FrederickTODDOf David Street, Stacksteads, passed away peacefully at, Blackburn General Hospital, on December 11, aged 87 years. He leaves nieces Gail and Yvette, nephews Philip and David, sister-in-law Grace and several great nieces and nephews. The youngest of seven children (five surviving to adulthood), born at 15 David Street, moving across the street to 26 in the 1960s where he lived with his parents and subsequently on his own. Educated at Tunstead School he went on to study at BRGS. During his National Service with the Royal Engineers he became a Marksman and later trained others. He worked on the local railways as a clerical officer and spent time travelling Europe by rail. Frederick held other clerical positions for several companies after the local rail lines closed, much to his dismay. He learned to fly gliders enjoying holidays flying over Sutton Bank and the North East coast. He loved walking in the local hills, photography and was interested in local history. Frederick was always interested in technology and computers, helping friends navigate them. He also enjoyed music and the old classic films of which he had many on DVD. Frederick had an extensive social life including going to dances where he was never short of a partner.
