It feels very unreal to be writing this. When we think of you Stephen, even though some of us have known you since school days our minds go straight back to the last few years when you, Jennie and a small group of close friends got together for long meals and discussions including how to resolve United's problems, Stephen usually had the solution. He also took great delight in telling us which football celebrity’s he had been photographed with.
You had a way of making life lighter with your sense of humour and quips. We always felt better after spending time with you.
What we will carry with us most is your warmth and your loyalty. You showed up for people. You cared, quietly but deeply. And you left a mark on everyone lucky enough to call you a friend.
It’s hard to accept that you’re gone. There’s a space now that will never be filled. But alongside the sadness, there’s gratitude — for the years of friendship, the memories, and the simple fact of having known you.
You won’t be forgotten Stephen, a lovely man
