The iron will, the steady hand,
A witness to a changing land.
With wartime tales and spirit bold,
A lifetime of stories, bravely told.
She stood so tall, a lady of grace,
The light of the lane, the heart of the place.
Now spring has arrived with a gentle sigh,
As blossoms drift under a pale blue sky.
The daffodils bow in the morning dew,
Waving a quiet farewell to you.
But as the earth wakes and the green buds grow,
We feel your spirit in the seasonal glow.
The kitchen is quiet, the flour at rest,
where our children learned from the very best.
The scent of the scones and the potato pie,
are memories of love that will never die.
From our wedding aisle to the garden gate,
you were the friend who made life great.
Now Bill is waiting with a smile so kind,
leaving the shadows of earth behind.
With Frank by your side in the golden light,
the stars in the heavens are burning bright.
No longer weary, no longer alone,
A legendary soul has found her way home.
