William JamesPRINGLEBest known locally for his time running The Duke of York, Iddesleigh, his work as a volunteer driver for the Okehampton District, Community Transport Group, and his championing of The Cinnamon Trust, Bill passed away at home on 9th December 2025.
Born in Torrington, he worked many years in the printing ink industry, travelling internationally and undertaking postings in Nairobi and Paris. From a young age he had enjoyed writing, a skill that also provided him with employment as a technical copy writing editor. After settling at Hatherleigh, he established his 'Man with Van' business ferrying belongings for owners with properties in Italy, Spain, Portugal and France.
His funeral is to be held at North Devon Crematorium, Barnstaple on Friday 6th February 2026 at 12:15pm
