DoreenMELLORDoreen Mellor, formerly of Booth Road, Stacksteads, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 4, at Holme Manor Residential Care Home, aged 77. Her family will be forever grateful for the excellent care she received there during her final months. Retiring from The Rossendale Combining Company, Doreen started her working life at the Valley Supply Company before moving on to the Manchester Tax office. She was born in Stacksteads to Billy and Jane, Doreen was the youngest of six. She was predeceased by Billy, Marjorie, Brian and Dorothy and is survived by her brother David and his wife Myra. She was a loving aunt to the late Angela, Jacqualine, Julie, the late Brian, Janine, Kay and Joanne and great aunt to many. Donations are most welcome for Guide Dogs for The Blind. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 22, leaving Knight & Boys, Newchurch Road, Stacksteads at 10am for cremation at Burnley at 10.45am.
