I was very privileged to work with Mr Hargreaves as a theatre nurse both at Salford Royal Hospital and at Hope Hospital until he retired. He was a perfectionist and expected the same from his staff. He was greatly missed when he retired. I send my condolences to his family. Rest in Peace Mr Hargreaves.

I knew AWH from the late 60s onwards ..a skilled surgeon....twinkle in the eyes

My life-long thanks for that telephone call 24 years ago when you gave my daughter her life back and his care and kindness over all the years.

Arthur was a truly wonderful man and I shall be forever grateful to him for his kindness and care when I was his patient in 1994.

I worked with Mr Hargreaves as ward Sister on S1 at Salford Royal in the 80's, he had very high standards both for himself and those he worked with. He was a charming, talented and witty man who I am proud to have worked with.

First met Mr Hargreaves at the start of my nursing career. Patient safety at the heart of his practice - always expected high standards and personally experienced his support and encouragement in my appointment as Senior sister at Salford Royal S4 late eighties - fond memories of the annual Christmas gatherings listening to wonderful stories he regaled.
