I’m so late to hear about this. Alan taught me piano in the late 1980s, and I have an enormous amount to be grateful to him for. A gentle soul, and a patient and empathic teacher. My best wishes to Hazel (I sang at their wedding) and to Alan’s friends and loved ones.

Alan's music lives on from his excellent recordings The Robin's Return and The Harmonious Blacksmith. I have ensured his photo/bio are featured on Discogs.com in celebration of his fine renditions of rarely played pieces.

Very sad to read of his passing. He was a great piano teacher, and I still listen to The Robins Return from time to time.

I was very sad to read of Alan's death in the ISM magazine today. My apologies for the late message. He was a tremendous musician and I enjoyed working with him and the Landor Trio many times in concert and recordings. Alan was such an artist and so kind. A great loss to the world of music. My love to the family, Marie-Louise

I was so sorry to hear the news. Alan was my piano teacher when I was a boy. I really enjoyed his lessons, even 30+ years later there are moments I remember vividly. My condolences.
