Always told my friends when I met Chris and I saw how he did the house on the first Xmas I was like OMG this guy is so organised the attention to details when he bought gifts, the labels the covers for the bottles, the wrapping, the decorations in the house. But that bloomin grey and creamy striped pillow on the sofa haunted me - he always sat on it, no matter how many times I made sure it was straight and plump. It was always the one thing in the house that was so squashed and out of shape and just didn’t match anything. I just laughed at the state of it every time I saw it. And when I almost lost Willow for him. She sat on the porch roof meowing. I couldn’t leave until I got her in. Chris must of seen me
going mad on that camera panicking. 😂 I’ll treasure the random conversations via WhatsApp about his rugs and the new silk dressing gown that I told him reminded me of something from Austin powers. OMG, those
rugs everywhere. We did have random laughs and I’ll treasure the last bottle of wine from him
from December xx

Have spent some time this morning listing to Nirvana in tribute to Chris, I will be thinking of you and your closest family and friends today on you last journey over lunch time. You were such a kind and caring Head of Year to my first form group and I will remember you fondly singing karaoke in your classroom, aka the year group common room at lunchtimes. I am privileged to have worked in your team at the combe. You were a supportive colleague and friend and I remember many a drink with you at parties and pubs and Francis Combe do's. Still such a shock to hear of such a young colleagues passing, gone way too early. RIP Chris Doody x

I want to pay tribute to my wonderful colleague and friend Chris Doody who sadly passed away on Saturday 26 April. I still can’t believe it as I’m sure everyone who knew him is feeling exactly the same way.
I worked with Chris in his English classes, supporting students within the lesson. Chris was an amazing teacher, he was patient, caring and so supportive.
His passion for his subject was dynamic and I’m grateful that I was able to witness it first hand.
He brought literature to life, and above all he made those stories and characters relevant to the modern day. He believed in his students, he was positive and gave them the tools to succeed in life.
He allowed me to team teach, sharing the lessons together and my last Principles Award was written by him. I was blown away with his words and his confidence in my abilities. An award I have always treasured.
We talked a lot about our cats, politics and life in general. Great memories.
He influenced me to join the coaching team and we worked on Pupil Premium for many years. I learnt so much and this has helped me in my working life.
The world is a lot darker now with Chris not in it. However, I will always be grateful for the years of friendship and our working relationship.
Lastly, my heart goes out to his family, Heidi, Mich and dear friends.
With love and affection. ❤️🥰❤️

I still can’t quite find the words, but I want to honour Chris Doody and the incredible person he was.

Having lost a few close friends since the start of this year, this is by far the hardest to take in. The thought of a world without Chris in it just doesn’t feel real.

Chris brought so much light, energy and passion into the lives of everyone who knew him. Whether it was through his love of music, his unforgettable singing, or the way he inspired others through his teaching, he made a lasting impact that won’t be forgotten.

I feel so grateful to have shared moments with him; from camps filled with laughter, to seeing firsthand the dedication and heart he poured into everything he did. He truly lived life to the fullest and that’s something I’ll always admire. My best memories of Chris will have to be the “FCA Summer Camps”, he was always so inspiring and the first to suggest ideas and the first to say; “ I’m with you Parveiz”.

The world feels a little quieter without him, but his spirit will live on in the memories he gave us all.

Rest in peace, Chris. You will be deeply missed and always remembered. I was going to meet up with you, Chris, it will have to be a little later, my friend. 💙🕊️😔

We absolutely loved Chris and I will always look back fondly on the quiz nights he brought to the pub in the last 18 months. The quiz nights were always a high at the pub and I looked forward to them immensely, as did many of the customers, my parents and the children. He will be very much missed!

I not only enjoyed the quiz nights, but Chris was funny and I enjoyed many a lovely discussion with him.

Sending all our love!

There are people you meet that sometimes feel too good for this world. Chris was one of those people- a true gentleman and a truly beautiful human. I’m so sorry for all of his friends and family and all who were lucky enough to meet this lovely soul.

I'm very saddened to hear the news about Chris. We were childhood friends growing up In Hullbridge. I have lots of fond memories of us playing together that I will cherish, one of them was watching the 3 Amigos, we always laughed at that. Sending lots of thoughts for the whole family.
