Alongside her writing, Sarah had a deep love for music, hymns, and prayers. Her faith was a quiet but powerful force in her life. She loved her Bible stories, and it brings us comfort to know that these very stories were what she listened to, bringing her peace, near the very end.

Finally, the family wishes to pay a massive, heartfelt tribute to her father, Jim Senior. Jim, your dedication, commitment, and unwavering care for your youngest daughter was extraordinary. Frankly, you could not have been a more devoted father, and in that respect, Sarah was incredibly fortunate to have you.
As we say goodbye to Sarah today, let us remember her peace in the gardens she loved, the faith that sustained her, and the love she shared with those closest to her.
May she now rest in peace.
Amen

## A Tribute to Sarah Delaney

We are here today to celebrate the life of Sarah. While her journey had its setbacks, there are so many beautiful, happy memories for us to look back on and cherish today.

Sarah was the youngest of five children, and the much-loved daughter of Jim and the late Enid Delaney. Growing up, Sarah was always by her Mum’s side. They forged an incredibly deep, unbreakable bond. While we feel the pain of her absence, we can find comfort—especially her father, Jim Senior—in knowing that Sarah and her Mum are now peacefully reunited together.

Some of Sarah’s happiest times were spent traveling. As a girl, she loved exploring with her parents, and she often took special trips with just her Mum to visit family in Canada. There were also many wonderful holidays spent with her sister, Sue, and her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Sarah was a private person, and because trusting others could be difficult for her, she kept her circle small. But she valued true connection deeply. Today, we want to extend a special, heartfelt thank you to Carol. Carol, you were a remarkably trusted and supportive friend to Sarah. The family cannot thank you enough for your kindness, your loyalty, and your friendship. We know from Sarah’s own writings just how much your presence in her life truly meant to her.

Nature, gardens, and travel were Sarah’s sanctuaries. She found immense solace and peace in the quiet beauty of the outdoors. Looking at her plans, it is clear she still had a heart full of wanderlust, intending to travel more and discover new, beautiful corners of the world.
She was also an avid writer, blessed with the most beautiful handwriting. While it is sad that she wasn’t able to fully reach the vast potential she held, the words she left behind remain a gift

In loving memory of my youngest sister, Sarah.
After a long battle with cancer, you passed away far too soon.
You were an intelligent, creative and sensitive person who saw the world in your own unique way. I will remember your warmth, your insight, and above all, your beautiful smile.
Over recent years, we spent many hours on the phone during some difficult times and I hope those conversations brought you some comfort and reassurance. I will always treasure those moments in my thoughts.
I’m deeply saddened that I did not get the chance to see you before you died and say goodbye but I really understand why you wanted to be alone.
You will always be remembered with love and affection. Your courage, intelligence and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace dear sister, Sarah.
You will always be in my thoughts and I will always remember your smile.
Your loving brother Dennis
