Though I knew him for only 18 months, Mark was a trusted colleague and a great friend. He was one of life’s kindest gentlemen that I have ever met - he made the world better simply by being in it and brought a smile to everyone fortunate enough to meet him. Rest in peace my friend.

My condolences to Lotti, Neil, Tamar and all the family. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mark, a friend through childhood and beyond.

I reminisce with joy all these things and many more from our carefree childhood in Padstow

Man Utd
FA Cup Final days at 3 High St.
Camp coffee
Queen
The Teddy Boy phase- Showaddywaddy & boot lace ties.
Running amok in Plantation
Bows and Arrows (The Elephant Gun)
Bonfires at the back of the Ship
Garden hopping and many more.

In our later years I would visit Padstow and we would get together for a drink. It didn’t matter how many months or years had passed between these visit it was like I had seen him the day before. Warm, funny, never awkward.

I bumped into Mark briefly this February and told him “see you Mayday for a catch up” regrettably I couldn’t make the trip.

R.I.P. “Dawereen” x

Mark was one of the very best, and I’ll be raising a drink for him and the memories he leaves behind.

I don’t feel I have the right words, but I did want to leave a small message here and acknowledge what a thoughtful choice it is to support the Fishermen’s Mission in Mark’s name. For a community shaped by the sea, it feels quietly fitting — a way for his kindness to keep reaching others.

I’m still struggling to take this in, and I’m sure so many of us are feeling the weight of losing Mark. It’s impossible to make sense of someone so full of warmth and goodness leaving us at just 53. He truly was one of the best — a straight-up, genuine, friendly soul. I’d always look out for him when I brought the family back home, and he always made you feel glad to bump into him, no matter how many years had passed.

The hole he leaves behind is huge. But when the time comes, I’ll be raising a drink for Mark and celebrating the life he lived and the memories he gave us. A top guy, gone far too soon. 💔

Love
