PeterALEXANDERof Stirling died on Tuesday 21 April aged 87. He was the beloved husband of Sasha for 64 years. The much loved brother of Walter, Jim, Johnny, Bill and Bob, a loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and a great friend and teacher to many.
A professional pianist, Peter trained in Glasgow and Italy, and toured and performed with Sasha worldwide. Having lived in Florida and London, they returned to their Scottish roots and settled in Stirling in 1988, where Peter taught music and worked as an examiner, and latterly sang with the Gargunnock Songsters.
Peter enjoyed going to concerts, the opera and the cinema. He was a talented cook and a wonderful host with a great sense of humour. He loved toast and marmalade, ready salted crisps, single malt whisky, doing The Times crossword, and wearing brightly coloured socks. He could skewer you with a dark brown stare, and win you back over with a terrifying smile. He will be deeply missed by Sasha and his family, friends and former pupils.
Peter's funeral will take place at the Killearn Woodland Cemetery on Thursday 7 May at 11:00am, followed by a funeral tea at Stirling Court Hotel from 1:00pm.
No flowers please, but donations if desired to Alzheimer Scotland.
