It was such a pleasure to know Granny Ma. She was sharp, witty and full of so many stories - I'm privileged that I had the chance to be a part of some of them, and she a part of some of my greatest life milestones. Jan will be sorely missed x

It was an honour to have you as my granny - you inspired and shaped me in more ways than I can list. I will always find you on woodland walks, in the bloom of every bud, along every beach, inside the pages of your many books and within the folk music. Forever my Granny Ma; forever your darling Ruby xx

A long life well lived. I enjoyed her letters & cards detailing what she & the family had been up to & somehow managing to keep abreast of my life as well. To my cousins & their extended families, my condolences & love Jen

My abiding memories of Jan are of her passion for her garden and all things in nature. I rarely meet people with such appreciation of the inter-connectedness of every aspect of the natural world – a passion we shared. Her little garden and all the creatures who live in it were beneficiaries of great love

Dear Justin, Chris and Anna,

Your Mum was one of my favourite people, and I have SUCH fond and happy memories of her. I’m so glad I saw her on my infrequent trips to the UK, most recently in 2023. Bless her heart, she always made me feel that we had known each other for ever, and her letters were so welcome and warm. I will truly miss her, but my memory of her will always remain as one of my favourite ones of family times!
Magda.

Jan was always SO good to me and my children when I was able to visit from Canada. Along with her sister Judy, it was as if we had always known each other. On one occasion she and I took a trip to Dinas Powys to visit her brother-in-law Mansell, as Many was away. We shared so many laughs and fun times, and her letters were so welcome and newsy. I will miss you, dear Jan…you were a shining light in my life, and always will be 🙏🏽
