Peter IanAPPLEBYPassed away peacefully at home on 11th April 2026, aged 98 years.

Loving and devoted husband to Joy, beloved dad to Helen and Judith and very dear father-in-law to Andy and Mark. A much loved grandad to Michael, Rachel, Jonathan, Tom and Will and a dear great-grandad to Evie, Grace, Charlie, Hattie, Freddie, Alfie, Olivia and Emily. Peter was a great friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Peter's funeral will take place on Tuesday 12th May, service 10:30am in the Cedar Room at Bretby Crematorium.

Family flowers only please. Donations in loving memory will support 'Dementia UK' and 'Cancer Research UK' and may be made at the service.

Remembering (Grandad) Peter. A true gentlemen who lived a long and happy life, alongside his beloved Joy.

We will miss his good humour, his kindness and generosity - and will always remember him dearly for the wonderful man he was.

There are a few teachers I remember from my child hood with fondness. Mr Appleby is one of those. A wonderful teacher, strict but fair.
