John was a wonderful person. I knew him from his membership in the World Flute Society. In addition, every month he would attend the society's virtual flute circle. John loved to play his Native American flutes. He even played his recorder a few times. His love of music was so apparent. He was always cheerful.
I told John that I had an English budgie named Percival. We got to taking about Arthurian legend, an interest as it turned out we shared. Dated October 2025, John mailed me a lovely poem and postcard signed, "For Kathleen, who loves tales of King Arthur." I will always treasure this gift from John.
I miss John. He was a bright light in the world. He was my friend and fellow musician. I think of him often.
